Sanitex used its own trade management system, but as the business grew and expanded to other countries, it became too difficult to maintain this platform. A trading and warehouse inventory management solution has been developed and implemented for the company, the core of which consists of the LS Nav retail module running on the MS Dynamics NAV platform. The attractiveness of the solution lies in the fact that its functionality, after making the necessary modifications, could be adapted to specific Sanitex processes without creating a completely new system.
UAB Sanitex is a leader in the wholesale, distribution and logistics of wide consumer goods in Lithuania and Latvia, actively developing its activities in Estonia as well. In 1997, the company established its own wholesale network PROMO Cash & Carry, serving smaller shops, kiosks, cafes, bars.
Sanitex used its own trade management system, but as the business grew and expanded to other countries, it became too difficult to maintain this system. The company needed specialists to help implement business development plans. Also, the previously used solution was not adapted to work with the euro. The partner StrongPoint has been chosen for the implementation of the project, as it provides its services in all three Baltic countries.

The company-managed retail chain PROMO Cash & Carry is a warehouse-type store where goods are presented in packages or prepacked in larger quantities, but are stored in a trade hall rather than in a warehouse. A retail chain customer is specific – not a regular customer looking for everyday goods, but a retailer, small business owner, a restaurant, office, school or other organization. At the same time, the nature of the trade process differs, as it is not purchased in units, but in large quantities – on a wholesale basis.
Sanitex has been looking for a solution that would be in line with the nature of Cash & carry sales, as well as the ability to realize the functionality of specific company processes. Cash & carry transactions differ from standard retail functionality, such as the need for invoicing at the checkout minimizing customer service time as much as possible, extensive pricing requirements, and other features related to the processing of export documents and selection of pre-ordered goods.
A solution for trade and warehouse inventory management has been developed and implemented for the company, the core of which consists of the LS Nav retail module running on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform. The attractiveness of the solution lies in the fact that its functionality, after making the necessary modifications, could be adapted to specific Sanitex processes without creating a completely new system. The Latvian stores have a system equipped with all the necessary technical equipment – NCR POS terminals, DIGI weighing equipment and maintenance services. The work was accelerated by the fact that StrongPoint has its service network in all the Baltics with local expertise for specifics in all the countries.
After testing the solution in stores in Latvia, Sanitex has expanded the project to unify the systems in Lithuanian “PROMO Cash&Carry” centres, and the future stores in Estonia, and the expanded project LS Nav, based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV, is also being implemented in the remaining stores.
Sanitex uses a modern trade management system that allows managing trade and warehouse inventory operations more efficiently in the same way in different countries. Thanks to the project, pricing was expanded and the possibility of employee errors was reduced by using the LS Retail price label system.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV version, which is used in Lithuania and Estonia, can communicate with other accounting, loyalty, or third-party systems through a Web Service, which reduced the time required to implement new functionalities and allowed sharing responsibilities among Sanitex programmers and StrongPoint specialists.
LS Nav and MS Dynamics NAV allow the company to manage retail operations, receive and process sales data from both Lithuania and Latvia using a single platform. At the same time, it allows for more efficient implementation of ongoing development in Estonia, based on a common business management platform.
The functionality of LS Nav and its modifications will allow Sanitex to effectively manage the principles of complex, multi-level pricing. PROMO Cash&Carry stores can only be used to shop with a customer card. The customer has its id by which it is identified. Accordingly, customers are provided with discounts and exclusive offers. Thanks to the business system, the checkout provides an opportunity to check customer data in other systems, to promptly receive and use credit and loyalty information in other Sanitex subsidiaries.
